Prelude, Toccata and Fugue was written in the Spring of 2000 and is dedicated to the organist and composer, Françoise Lévéchin-Gangloff, organiste-titulaire of the Cavaillé-Coll Organ at the Church of Saint Roch in Paris, with whom Paul Wehage has given concerts for many years. The work was premièred by Paul Wehage and the Organist of Notre Dame des Ardents, Véronique Blanc. The work should be considered to be closer to "chamber music" rather than music for solo instrument and care should be taken in the registration so that the sound of the organ compliments the sound of the solo instrument effectively.

The work is in three movements, with the Toccata and Fugue sections to be played without pause. The work explores a harmonic system which juxteposes octatonic material with a pentatonic material in a generally extended tonal style. The Prelude is in an extended ABA form with the second A exploring the extreme high range of the solo instrument (this passage may be played down an octave if necessary). The driving toccata leads to an enigmatic fugue.

Prelude, Toccata and Fugue est écrite au Printemps de 2000 et dédié à l'organiste et compositrice Françoise Lévéchin-Gangloff, organiste-titulaire de l'orgue Cavaillé-Coll Organ de L'Eglise Saint Roch de Paris, avec qui Paul Wehage a donné des concerts depuis longtemps. L'oeuvre a été crée par le compositeur et Véronique Blanc, l'organiste de Notre Dame des Ardents de Lagny-sur-Marne L'oevure devrait être consideré plus comme une oeuvre de chambre plutôt qu'une oeuvre soliste et le choix de la registration de l'orgue devrait être fait pour complimenter le son de l'instrument soliste avec éfficacité.

L'oeuvre est dans trois mouvements avec la Toccata et la fugue qui s'enchaînent sans pause. l'oeuvre explore une système harmonique qui juxtapose les motives octatonique avec des passages pentatonic. La Prélude est dans une forme ABA avec une exploration du régistre aïgu dans la deuxième A (cette passage pourrait être interpreter une octave en dessous si necessaire). La toccata pleine d'énérgie mène vers la fugue énigmatique.
